Catholic Charities Grateful Recipient of Donation of Turkeys from Orange County Tavern & Restaurant Association

Thanks to a generous donation of turkeys from the Orange County Tavern & Restaurant Association, Thanksgiving celebrations were made a little brighter this year for 32 families served by Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster. The donated turkeys were delivered to Catholic Charities on behalf of the Association by members Christine and Tommy O’Toole, owners of O’Toole’s Pub in Monroe.

“We are extremely grateful to all the members of the Orange County Tavern & Restaurant Association for combining their efforts to coordinate a generous donation of turkeys to Catholic Charities,” said Kristin Jensen, Chief Advancement Officer for Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster. “While most of us think of turkey as the centerpiece of our Thanksgiving feast, there are many in our community who go without the turkey or the feast at all. Thanks to the Association’s giving spirit, 32 families were able to enjoy not just the turkey, but the fellowship that comes from sharing a meal together. We are thankful for the Association’s support,” added Jensen.

The turkeys were donated to Catholic Charities during the iHeartMedia Stuff-the-Bus food drive which made it possible for recipients to receive many of the accompanying Thanksgiving fixings as well.

This year, Catholic Charities distributed more than 30,000 pounds of food through its programs in Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster Counties.
