Additional Dates for Catholic Charities Bereavement Support Group … January 29, February 12 and 26, Goshen

GOSHEN – Catholic Charities Community Services of Orange and Sullivan has announced additional dates for its bereavement support group. The group is especially for individuals who have lost a loved one to the disease of addiction. Upcoming meetings are scheduled for Monday, January 29, Monday, February 12, and Monday, February 26 from 7 – 8:15 pm and will be held in the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council’s conference room at 224 Main Street, Goshen (rear entrance).

Free and open to the community, the meetings provide a safe environment for those who have lost a loved one to addiction to share and seek support without stigma or judgment.

“Unfortunately, not everyone wins their battle with addiction, and we often find that the family members left behind have much to cope with, including grief, guilt, and anger,” said Dr. Dean Scher, CEO, Catholic Charities Community Services of Orange and Sullivan. “But there’s no need for loved ones to go it alone. This bereavement support group, led by a highly experienced facilitator, offers an outlet for those who have experienced a loss to talk, share, and be supported along with others who have shared the same experience.”

Registration is not required to attend the support group, but is requested for planning purposes. To register, or for more information, contact Laura Brovich at 845.344.5565. Drop-ins are welcome. Additional meeting dates and locations will continue to be announced.
