Catholic Charities Clients Receive Early Easter Blessings From Catholic Daughters of St. Mary’s, Washingtonville

Goshen, NY – It was a sure sign of spring when members of the Catholic Daughters of America from St. Mary’s Church in Washingtonville, arrived at Catholic Charities’ Goshen office bearing beautiful Easter baskets to share with some of the agency’s clients.

Representing the Catholic Daughters of America, Court of St. Ann, Mother of Mary #2419, Linda Jurain, Chair of the group’s Circle of Love, Quality of Life Committee, and Grace Alcaro, Past President of Mother of Mary #2419, delivered eight beautiful baskets, filled to overflowing, for the same family the group “adopted” for Christmas through the Catholic Charities adopt-a-family program. In addition to holiday favorites like chocolate bunnies and marshmallow chicks, the baskets included books, clothing, hygiene items, and gift cards to assist the family.

“We are blessed to have generous community partners, like the Catholic Daughters of St. Mary’s, Washingtonville, who work together throughout the year to give back to their community and those in need,” said Kristin Jensen, Chief Advancement Officer, Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster. “Their warm hearts and caring spirits will make this Easter even more special for a family that is struggling to make ends meet. We are grateful for their continued kindness.”

Through a variety of programs, including emergency food and shelter assistance, Catholic Charities provides basic necessities of life to the neediest in the community. This frequently includes food, clothing, hygiene items, furniture, and household items. Throughout the year, many community groups organize drives to benefit Catholic Charities and the clients they serve. Catholic Charities provides assistance to those in need, regardless of religion or ability to pay.
