Catholic Charities Community Services Announces New Hire …. Nadine Castro Provides Oversight to Agency’s Substance Abuse Clinics in Orange County

GOSHEN, NY – Dr. Dean Scher, CEO of Catholic Charities Community Services of Orange and Sullivan, is pleased to announce that Nadine Castro, LMHC, LCPC, has joined the non-profit human service agency as Assistant Director of Behavioral Health for Orange County. In this role, Ms. Castro oversees the daily operations of Catholic Charities’ six outpatient clinics located in Orange County.

“Nadine is a great addition to our Catholic Charities team,” said Dr. Scher. “As an experienced counselor with certification in crisis management and substance abuse, she serves as a role model and mentor for Catholic Charities’ clinicians and support staff as they work on the front lines to provide assistance to those fighting addiction and seeking or maintaining recovery.”

A native New Yorker, Ms. Castro earned her master’s degree in counseling from Webster University, and received her bachelor’s cum laude from Park University. She has received additional certification in crisis management, suicidality, and substance abuse.

“In my role at Catholic Charities, I’m able to help our clinicians be the best they can be and serve as advocates for their clients,” said Ms. Castro. “My goal is to help both our staff, and those they serve, find success and achieve their goals.”

Before coming to Catholic Charities, Ms. Castro worked for Phoenix House Mid-Atlantic in Hagerstown, Maryland, as a program director. She volunteered as a crisis counselor in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and has assisted adults who are working to overcome reading and writing challenges.
