Catholic Charities and Fidelis Care Help Students Start Back to School with New School Supplies

Students have a better chance at success when they can start the school year equipped with the right supplies. Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster was the grateful beneficiary of a generous donation of new school supplies, including more than 80 backpacks, from Fidelis Care to share with students in need.

Fidelis Care’s Community Relations Specialist, Carl Garofolo Jr., arrived at Catholic Charities Goshen location in an SUV filled with supplies. The donations will be distributed to students throughout the agency’s three-county service area.

“We are thankful for the generosity of community partners like Fidelis Care,” said Kristin Jensen, Chief Advancement Officer, Catholic Charities. “They share Catholic Charities’ commitment to serve as a useful and supportive resource to our neighbors in need. While a new backpack or fresh supplies may seem like a small thing, they make a world of difference for a student who might otherwise go without.”

Catholic Charities hosts an annual Back-to-School supply drive, in order to provide students and families in need with supplies to help a child achieve success in school. Donations of new backpacks and school supplies for all ages are still being collected at Catholic Charities office locations in Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster Counties.
