Catholic Charities Golf for Charity – Monday, July 15 at West Hills

Annual Outing Raises Funds to Support Addiction Treatment, Prevention, Social Safety Net Services, and Other Community-Based Supports

Goshen – Community members and organizations are invited to Golf for Charity with Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster on Monday, July 15, at West Hills Country Club at the 13th annual golf outing fundraiser. The annual event raises much-needed funds to support the
not-for-profit human service agency’s mission to provide help and create hope in their tri-county service area. Catholic Charities provides important community-based programs, including addiction treatment, prevention and education, and social safety net services, such as emergency food and shelter assistance.

Catholic Charities board member Tom Fitzgerald, Vice President and Business Development Officer for Sterling National Bank, is serving as chairman of the 2019 Golf for Charity committee.

“If you love golf, there is no better event than the annual Catholic Charities outing,” said Fitzgerald. “It’s a fun-filled day of friendly competition, great food and prizes, and support for an important community organization,” said Fitzgerald. “I’m honored to serve as chair of the 13th annual outing and look forward to raising awareness and funds for Catholic Charities. All of the money raised from the Golf for Charity outing goes to support an organization that is working every day to improve the lives of those in need in our community.”

The day kicks off with golfer check-in and light breakfast at 8:30 am, shotgun start for a scramble format at 10 am, barbecue lunch on the course for all participants, and a buffet dinner and awards program in late afternoon. On the course contests will include hole-in-one, closest-to-the-pin, and longest drive.

“We are blessed to have generous supporters who chip in each year to ensure the success of our Golf for Charity outing and make sure the day runs smoothly,” said Dr. Dean Scher, CEO, Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster. “Our board members, staff, volunteers, and the great team at West Hills collaborate to create an outstanding day for our golfers and raise funds that will stay in our community to help our community.”

A variety of sponsorship opportunities – including tee signs for only $125 – are available, as well as registration for foursomes and individual golfers. The fee per foursome is $800, or $210 for individual golfers. Orange Regional Medical Center and 24Seven Enterprises are the first to sign on as 2019 Golf for Charity sponsors.

Anyone interested in attending the post-golf award dinner is invited to do so for $60 per person. To sign on as a sponsor, register golfers, or for more information, please contact Catholic Charities Office of Advancement at 845.294.5124, ext. 303, or kristin.jensen@cccsos.org.
