Catholic Charities Golf for Charity – Monday, July 16 at West Hills

Annual Golf Outing Raises Funds for Addiction Treatment, Prevention and Education, and Social Safety Net Services

Goshen – Catholic Charities Community Services of Orange and Sullivan invites community members to Golf for Charity at the 12th anniversary golf outing at West Hills Country Club in Middletown on Monday, July 16. The annual event raises much-needed funds to support the not-for-profit human service agency’s mission to provide help and create hope with programs like addiction treatment, prevention and education, and social safety net services, including emergency food and shelter assistance. Catholic Charities board member Tom Larsen, Senior Vice President of Government and Public Relations at Mediacom Communications Corp., is serving as chairman of the golf event committee.
“Golfers of all abilities can enjoy a great day on the links at Catholic Charities’ annual Golf for Charity Outing,” said Larsen. “The day full of fun, friendly competition raises critically important funds so Catholic Charities can continue to lend a helping hand to our friends and neighbors most in need,” he added. “It’s a bonus that West Hills is a beautiful course with top-notch facilities and great food – and we always have plenty of prizes.”
The day kicks off with golfer check-in, coffee and pastries at 8:30 am, shotgun start for a scramble format at 10 am, barbecue lunch on the course for all participants, and a buffet dinner and awards program in late afternoon. On the course contests will include hole-in-one, closest-to-the-pin, and longest drive.
“We are grateful to the many supporters who do their part to ensure the success of our golf outing each year – from the golfers and sponsors to the volunteer committee and amazing staff at West Hills and Catholic Charities who make sure the day runs smoothly,” said Dr. Dean Scher, CEO, Catholic Charities of Orange and Sullivan. “This outstanding collaboration raises funds in our community that stay in our community, so we can fulfill our mission to provide help and create hope for the disenfranchised in Orange, Ulster, and Sullivan Counties.”
A variety of sponsorship opportunities – including tee signs for only $125 – are available, as well as registration for foursomes and individual golfers. The fee per foursome is $765, or $200 for individual golfers. Anyone interested in attending the post-golf award dinner is invited to do so for $60 per person.
