Catholic Charities Golf for Charity Outing, September 16, at West Hills
Funds Raised Support Emergency Food, Shelter, and Other Community-Based Programs
Goshen – Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan & Ulster is now accepting reservations for its annual Golf for Charity Outing. This great day of golfing for a cause will be hosted on Monday, September 16, at West Hills Country Club in Middletown. The event raises important funds that stay local to support the not-for-profit human service agency’s mission to provide help and create hope for people in need in Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster Counties. Catholic Charities’ community-based programs include emergency assistance with food, shelter, and other necessities, addiction prevention and education, treatment and recovery support for adolescents, adults, and family members, and immigration legal aid.
“Catholic Charities helps the most marginalized and vulnerable members of our community, regardless of their religion or ability to pay,” said Shannon Kelly, CEO, Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan & Ulster. “Requests for assistance with basic human needs have stretched our financial and human resources thin. The Golf for Charity Outing raises much-needed funds so Catholic Charities can continue to aid our neighbors who are struggling to get by,” added Ms. Kelly.
Now in its 18th year, the outing offers a variety of opportunities for support including foursomes and individual golfer spots, sponsorships, and tee sign advertisements. The day will start with a light breakfast during the check-in reception. The “scramble” format will tee off at 10 am and a barbecue lunch will be served on the course. Prizes, raffles, and other festivities will wrap up the day with a buffet dinner under the tent. On the course contests will include hole-in-one, closest-to-the-pin, and longest drive.
“Catholic Charities’ Golf for Charity Outing is a fun-filled day of golfing for a cause for players of all experience levels,” said Tom Larsen, Golf Outing Chair and Senior Vice President of Government & Public Relations for Mediacom Communications. “The course is top-notch, the prizes are plentiful and it’s an opportunity to connect with friends, colleagues, and community partners while supporting Catholic Charities’ commitment to serving our neighbors in need.
We are grateful to the sponsors, golfers, volunteers, and other participants who give generously to make the outing a success each year,” added Mr. Larsen.
Those interested in participating in the Golf for Charity Outing are encouraged to lock in their reservations as soon as possible. The fee per foursome is $880, or $230 for individual golfers. A variety of sponsorship opportunities – including tee signs for only $200 – are available.
Golf Outing sponsors confirmed to date are Mediacom Communications, EPIC Insurance Brokers, Armistead Mechanical, Webster Bank, Resorts World Catskills, Legal Shred, and PKF O’Connor Davies. Healey Brothers will return as the host of the Hole-in-One contest.
