Catholic Charities Golf for Charity Outing – September 20 – at West Hills

Annual Fundraiser Supports Emergency Food, Shelter, and Other Agency Programs

Save the date for Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster’s 15th annual Golf for Charity Outing. This great day of golfing for a cause will be hosted on Monday, September 20, at West Hills Country Club in Middletown.  The event raises much-needed funds to support the not-for-profit human service agency’s mission to provide help and create hope for those in need in Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster Counties. Catholic Charities provides important community-based programs, including addiction treatment, prevention and education, and social safety net services, such as emergency food and shelter assistance.

“Over the past 15+ months, Catholic Charities has worked hard to meet the growing needs for emergency food and shelter assistance and addiction treatment and recovery support,” said Shannon Kelly, CEO, Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster. “Responding to the surge in need has strained our resources. Funds raised from the Golf for Charity Outing will help Catholic Charities continue to provide aid and support to our neighbors who are still coping with the effects of the pandemic,” added Ms. Kelly.

The fun-filled day of golf will start with a light breakfast during the check-in reception. The “scramble” format will kick-off with a 10 am shotgun start, and a barbecue lunch will be served on the course. Awards, raffles, and other festivities will wrap-up the day with a buffet dinner under the tent.  On the course contests will include hole-in-one, closest-to-the-pin, and longest drive. The hospitality team at West Hills is committed to providing a COVID-safe environment for all participants.

“The past year has been tough on everyone. We’re looking forward to reconnecting with friends, colleagues, and community partners for a great day of golf to support Catholic Charities’ commitment to serving our neighbors in need, regardless of religion or ability to pay” said Kristin Jensen, Chief Advancement Officer for Catholic Charities. “We are grateful to the sponsors, golfers, volunteers, and other participants who give generously to raise funds that will stay in our community to help our community.”

Those interested in participating in the Golf for Charity Outing are encouraged to lock in their reservations as soon as possible. The fee per foursome is $850, or $225 for individual golfers. A variety of sponsorship opportunities – including tee signs for only $150 – are available.
