Catholic Charities Kingston Food Pantry Continues to Serve Those in Need During Coronavirus Crisis

Pantry Hours Extended – 11 am – 5 pm, Tuesdays & Fridays

Kingston – Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster’s Food Pantry, located at its Kingston Community Center at 6 Adams Street, will continue to serve those in need during the ongoing Coronavirus crisis. The pantry will be open each week on Tuesdays and Fridays and distribution hours have been extended from 11 am to 5 pm to provide increased access.

Typically, a client-choice food pantry, the current need for social distancing has required that Catholic Charities temporarily transition to providing pre-bagged groceries. To further protect the health and safety of clients and limit interactions, the food will be distributed directly from the Center’s primary entrance at the rear of the building which has a double-door vestibule.

For those families with newborns and young children, Catholic Charities can also provide formula and diapers, during pantry hours, if arrangements are made in advance with pantry staff.

“As a community and a country, we are being faced with unprecedented challenges and disruptions to our normal routines,” said Dominique Wallace-Mills, Ulster County Regional Supervisor for Catholic Charities. “With more mouths to feed now that children and other family members are required to be at home, we want to ensure that those in need are able to put food on their table.”

Those in need of pantry assistance should be prepared to present identification and proof of family size when they pick up their bags of groceries.

“We are grateful for everyone’s patience and understanding as we adapt to the many changes in programs and processes made necessary by our response to the Coronavirus,” said Wallace-Mills.
