Catholic Charities Partners with Orange County and NYS Departments of Health to Explore Access to Healthcare in Newburgh

City Residents Invited to Share Thoughts at Listening Session on September 15

NEWBURGH, NY – City of Newburgh residents are invited to attend a listening session on Saturday, September 15 to share their thoughts on health and access to healthcare for those who live in the City. Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster has been tapped to host the listening sessions, in partnership with Orange County Department of Health and New York State Department of Health, as part of a grant to explore minority health disparities in the City of Newburgh.

The listening sessions will provide residents with an opportunity to voice their vision for healthcare in the community, including thoughts on the state of residents’ health, what impacts their health, and how residents feel about the availability and access to healthcare in the City of Newburgh. The listening session will be held Saturday, September 15 from 10 am – 2 pm, registration opens at 9:30 am, at Sacred Heart School’s Gallo Hall, 24 South Robinson Avenue, Newburgh.

We appreciate the opportunity to work with Orange County and NYS Departments of Health with a goal toward improving access to healthcare and healthcare outcomes for residents,” said Dr. Dean Scher, CEO, Catholic Charities.

As a thank you for attendees’ time and contributions, the first 50 people (over the age of 18) to pre-register, and participate, will receive a gift card from Aldi’s Supermarket. For the convenience of those participating in the listening session, breakfast and lunch will be provided and supervised children’s activities will be available. Residents are encouraged to bring their family and friends to add to the conversation.
